Print Work and Images.
My Print Images

This is my print images. The first image is part of an album cover that I had to work from this could mean interpreting it in my own way and colour or simply try to recreate it with the print, lino and Sheen Colay. The second image is my piece of lino when it was finished before using it for print. They way I created this is with lots of small etchings as well as carving out lines and some areas. The third image is my first attempt at print making it is simply a square of red ink that I will later use for Sheen Colay. The next image along is my stencil that I created with paper that will then prevent ink from passing through only going through areas that have been cut out, the next image is the results of this stencil. The next image is another attempt at print however using different methods and colours. The next images are Sheen Colay.
The last Photo on the second row is the start of some of my finally pieces and is a combination of the lino and the Sheen Colay on the second row second one in. It is simply printing the lion over the top with black ink. This piece is one of my favourites and is the pieces I submitted as the final piece.
Leopoldo Mendez

Leopoldo Mendez is a lino artists, I particularly like his work because of the amount of detail in his pieces. I partially like this piece due to the detail and the subject. Leopoldo is was an artist during the 19 hundreds and is from Mexico. Most of his piece is ink and only uses his carvings to portray detail with the white. He doesn’t carve out many large piece leaving white which I find interesting because he uses the small carvings to get the right detail in some areas, the only areas he carves a large amount of white is at the bottom of the piece however this matches his work well because it shows the different texture and gives a stark difference and shows different layering. For example there is a difference between the background, the horse which is the main focus of the art work and the wood.

Andy Warhol

Andy Warhol is one of the most well-known artists when it comes to print making because he was the first to do it as a piece of art instead of use for example on clothing. I enjoy his work because of the amount of colour and although I find it simple it works really well. Simply doing different colours creates an entirely new image. This inspires me to crate faces using print which is something I have yet to do, however I find it works really well and would be interested to try.
